Yule Ritual Cauldron

Wheel thrown cauldron with raw pentacle and golden moon adornments. Handbuilt feet keep your surfaces safe from heat if you are burning herbs or charcoal and the handles allow you to move her safely if necessary. 🌲❤️‍🔥

Stands approximately 3.75” tall with the feet and is approximately 6” in diameter with the handles 

This piece was pressed with white pine needles harvested from the tree in my backyard that watches over my studio. This understated detail is a celebration of the evergreen tree that is known for its cleansing and protective properties. Wreaths of pine are traditionally hung above doors of dwellings to bring joy and abundance to those who live inside. Pine needles scattered near doors or on the floor drives away evil and the branches can be burned in bonfires to purify. 

The pentacle is probably the most common and easily recognized Pagan symbol.

Five points represent the essences of physical existence as we know it: earth, air, fire, water, and spirit. Together these five essences make up earthly life. Many pentacles are also surrounded by a circle, like this one, which represents the unbroken wholeness of the universes, and the profound interconnectedness of all things.

I enjoy the symmetry of this sacred symbol with the art of making ceramics. All four elements are used; the clay the earth, water when throwing, forming two pieces together, air when drying, oxygenation when firing, and of course FIRE with the chemical changes in the kiln.

Spirit and myself guide the vessels into being.
